About this Case Study

Scrum is becoming very popular; that’s good. Consciously or not, most people adopt scrum by blindly following a so-called 'scrum expert'; that’s not so good.

As more organisations look to an agile transition to become more efficient, I’m keen to make sure they realise that there's more to agile than just scrum.

Continuous improvement is important within agile teams. Whilst teams frequently look at how they can improve within the realms of scrum, rarely do they consider if scrum is still the right approach. More concerning is that most scrum teams probably aren't even aware of the different approaches that are out there.

Addressing culture within any agile transition is essential and simply sending a chosen few on certified scrum master training courses is exactly the opposite of what breeds a 'we're all in this together' attitude.

In this session we'll explore how there is far more to agile than just scrum. We'll look at the benefits all agile approaches bring to the table and why some are more suited for different scenarios than others. Importantly, we'll make it clear to participants that knowledge is key and it is impossible to know that an approach like scrum is right for you if you have not considered the alternatives.

About the Speaker

Now a seasoned agile veteran, James has at some point over the past decade taken on almost every role within an agile project team. Managing director and certified agile trainer for Agile Snap, James is passionate about making people aware that agile does not just start and end with scrum.
