Tribe and Squad Autonomy: Systems Thinking at Sky Betting & Gaming

Rob Tuley SkyBetting

Session type: Experience Report
Session duration: 60 minutes

About this Experience Report

What if everything we were taught about team management turned out to be wrong?

Find out how the Bet Tribe at Sky Betting & Gaming has organised around service teams with clear ownership boundaries, and learned to handle its cross-team and tribe dependencies, embracing the counterintuitive world of team autonomy and systems thinking.

About the Speaker

The recent focus of Rob's engineering career has been on shared services like identity, payments and other services with many internal stakeholders: not being a bottleneck in the delivery flow is a key responsibility, and a people problem as much as a technical one.

Rob is currently responsible for the Data Tribe engineering teams at Sky Betting & Gaming, providing big data warehousing and streaming services.
