In this session, participants will be taken on a journey through our development pipeline, from the initial idea through development and on to delivery. This will involve a little participation early on - asking participants: are you already continuously delivering and how fast can you do it? 1 month, 1 week, 1 day, 1 hour, 15 minutes?
At Codeweavers we practice continuous delivery almost exactly as prescribed and have a deeply embedded Toyota Way culture, even modelling our delivery pipeline around car manufacturing. Through many tiny improvements we can now deliver hundreds of code changes to our live environments over 50 times a day. Alongside this we have developed a number of custom tools to help see the flow of changes through our environment and to monitor our deliverables and performance.
See how we use and track changes in a single monolithic trunk with mixed languages, how we deliver all of our changes through one automated pipeline and only have one truth for our code base at all times.
Paul Boocock is the Academy Leader at Codeweavers, a leading finance technology specialist in the automotive industry. He focuses on staff development and learning across the entire business but with a particular focus on the development side of things.
Paul is very passionate about the agile mindset and much of his teaching and philosophy are based on the Toyota Way and lean principles. Prior to Codeweavers, Paul was a lecturer at Staffordshire University, teaching software engineering and computer games programming. He has always been a developer at heart and relishes the opportunity to teach others as well as still getting his hands dirty.
