This session will cover the dichotomy between scrum teams and the existing hierarchies that are present in most companies. We'll look at how to identify, break down and then rebuild the organisational structure to allow true agility to flourish.
The session isn't repeating one theory or indeed me creating my own - it's a mix of different learnings and how implementing these in organisations can achieve real and lasting change. Some themes people will recognise from the books of Dan Pink, Doug Hubbard, Eliyahu Goldratt, Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi - but I'm also keen to touch on learnings that will be new to most participants that have come from my commercial experience.
That said, my session isn't explaining other people's theories in isolation, they have their own talks for that - it's about how you can practically use bits of great theory to get quantifiable results and an improvement in agility throughout an organisation. Not just increase the velocity of a delivery team. Think of my presentation as being like scrum; we use it together with other bits of agile methodologies to get a best fit for our current scenario. That's the direction my session takes. It isn't a rigid framework, more some real world findings that participants can bespoke for their own circumstances to facilitate agile change. I intend for everyone to take something useful away.
