Values in the workplace

Session type:

Session duration:
60 minutes

Presented by:

Tobias Mayer

Educator and Agile Citizen

About this Keynote

Value statements are all the rage in corporations, but what meaning do they really have, and how do they play out on a day to day basis? Values are easy to talk about, much harder to live.

From a perspective of living these espoused values, whether personal or inflicted, this mid-conference keynote will begin with a retrospective of day one, and move into a preparation for days two and three. This is less a talk, and more an interactive experience, mirroring the essence of the scrum events.

About the Speaker

Tobias is a citizen of the agile space, a scrum practitioner, educator and facilitator, author of The People's Scrum, creator/curator of AgileLib.Net and founder/host of the London ScrumMaster Clinics.

In the past he has worked as a software developer, tester, graphic designer, stage manager, lighting designer, painter and decorator, community worker, group facilitator and counsellor to the disenfranchised. In the present he practices parenting, studies theology and explores power dynamics in the workplace.

His work is informed by all that he’s lived, and continues to live, including a long journey through substance abuse, 2 marriages (one failed, one current and wonderful), 4 children, close friendships, his Christian faith and the inspiring people of the agile community who light up his path.
