Even though they don’t know it, Lowland Rescue are scrumming the scrum to assist search and rescue teams across the UK locate vulnerable missing people.

What happens when your customer (the person who is missing) cannot communicate with the team? How do you get fast feedback? How do you collaborate to achieve the objective? How do you adapt to new intelligence during the middle of a search? What happens when the smartest person in the team is a dog and no one can understand them?! And lastly - what can and should Lowland Rescue learn from traditional technology-driven agile teams?

About the Speaker

Darren is an agile transformation lead for RBS. He is also a volunteer level 3 area search dog handler for Lowland Rescue. He and his dog Millie are called out on average 30 times a year to look for vulnerable missing people. Darren is a professional enterprise and team coach with over 10 years of agile and nearly 20 years of C/C++ software engineering experience, working in organisations such as Thales, McLaren Racing and BAE. His ‘why’ is to help others help themselves.
