About the session
Theme: Mindful mindset | Dealing with change
Bodies. We've all got one. Our bodies accompany us to all our meetings and help us understand what's happening in the world and in our teams.
Emotions take place in the body, and embodied cognitive science has shown how emotions in the body can both hinder and help with decision making.
Nowhere is this more apparent than in team working. Sometimes we are aware of our emotions and the signals from our bodies, and other times we are unaware of how emotions and the body are impacting us at work.
This practical workshop will explore body awareness in conversation and in group problem solving, giving you a deeper understanding of how to use your body in the workplace.
Participant takeaways:
- Learn cognitive science-informed approaches about how the body, emotions and mind work together to influence behaviour and decision making
- Learn how to pay better attention to feelings in the body as they arise in conversation and in group problem solving
- Learn to use somatic (body-based) techniques to manage and integrate emotional awareness at work
