About the session

How long can you typically focus on work without disruption? I mean *really* focus.

Research tells us that half of us can’t steal one hour for deep focus, despite working in team-based organisations and regardless of whether we’re a manager or a ‘creator’.

And the impacts are way worse than we thought: > 50% longer lead times, quality an afterthought, limited innovation, and frustrated staff.

In this workshop we’ll run through a series of repeatable steps you can take to expose and measure task-switching in your organisation, trigger a groundswell of support for group-level change, and engage leadership in this most critical of delivery improvements.

Participant takeaways:

  • How prevalent task switching is and how we can measure it
  • Experience the mechanics and impacts first-hand
  • Explore what good looks like (contiguous, related series of work with the team member in control of all that)
  • Relate all of this back to your own prevalent is it, what are the causes, what can you do?
  • Develop your own action plan to assess, trigger group change, and monitor task switching in your own workplace.
  • Get the workshop, worksheet, and community support to run this in your workplace.
